Went for Subday lunch. A much improved venue, bright and clean. Staff very welcoming and service really good. Had two courses, both beautifully cooked and presented. Will definitely return.

Went here for a wedding reception recently. It was nicely decorated but the cost of drinks were exceptionally high.

I took a friend for afternoon tea for a birthday treat and it was excellent! A delicious selection of savoury & sweet treats, including some tasty warm savouries. Endless refills of tea, a jug of iced water and a beautiful view out over the lake in such a peaceful setting too. The staff are first class, nothing was too much trouble and they really looked after us. Will definitely be using the restaurant again!

Driving range review:We came here on a afternoon to hit some balls. As novices we needed to hire clubs, however the ones they provided weren't great. Fair enough it's probably a range for actual golfers but we couldn't even get a driver. I think if you had a few sets of clubs you'd please a wider audience of customers. I would also recommend having some closer markers for the less able players. However the games you can play are fun. Good to see your stats and scores etc on the screen.Decent price during the day before peak hours! Deffo worth a try.

So impressed with the friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room, modern bathroom and clubhouse. The bar terrace and view over the lake exceptional. One not to miss!

I had a lovely business stay here. The rooms are perfect and airy with a view of the pond. The coffee maker was a nice touch. There is a lovely peaceful decking area overlooking the pond. I sat with a pint of Camden Pale watching a Grey Heron fishing and listening to Green Woodpeckers. This morning I awoke to the sound of a Cuckoo. Highly recommended.

Attending the wedding at Kingfisher offered me the chance to experience the restaurant firsthand. Despite hearing glowing reviews about its location and food service, I left deeply disappointed. When I first entered the building, only the car park greeted me before the hotel itself came into view. Although the food was enjoyable, the service left much to be desired. The wait staff wore mismatched uniforms, and it seemed like the wedding planners were doubling as servers.During a brief absence for a cigarette, I returned to find the table stripped bare of essentials like tissues, glasses, water jugs, wine, and beer. Despite it only being 8:30 pm, everything had been cleared away. To quench my thirst, I had to make my way to the bar and request a glass of water myself. However, upon reaching the bar, I was met with confusion. The bar staff had the payment device ready, and I couldn't help but feel unsure whether I had to pay for the water or the beer that had previously been on our tables and were now sitting at the bar next to the payment device. The lack of clarity made it difficult to understand what was included and what we, as guests, were expected to pay for.The atmosphere took a sharp downturn after the waiters cleared everything off the tables, including items we brought back, like slices of cake. I witnessed a friend's half-eaten cake being whisked away when they briefly left for a dance. It felt as though the staff were in a rush to clear the guests out, despite the wedding still being in full swing. Their constant clearing away of items gave the impression that they were trying to rush us out the door, even though the festivities were still ongoing and the venue was paid for until 10pmEven more disheartening was the absence of waiters when it came time for the bride to cut the cake. She ended up distributing slices to guests because there was no staff present.Considering these shortcomings, I cannot in good conscience recommend Kingfisher for a wedding event.
